  1. Money flows around an economy like water in the water mains. The flow is pumped through the action of firms in the economy paying wages, buying stock, selling products. But this does not necessarily deliver water to everywhere it needs to go. Taxes are not an imposition so much as a way of channelling money and resources towards those sectors that operate in a different fashion such as public services which, while they also pump money out in staff wages, by their nature need more money than that. So taxes need to be applied to where money tends to accumulate. Taxes are needed to redress imbalances in the flow of money.

  2. Just to add that about 50 people came to the launch meeting - and comedian activist Mark Thomas has since become involved in the campaign.
